Empanelment of Honorary Visiting Specialists at Southern Railway Headquarters Hospital, Perambur, Chennai – 23

Railway Hospital, Perambur is a 505-bed Multi Specialty Hospital having Super Specialty facilities in Cardiology, Cardiovascular Surgery, Neurosurgery, Nephrology, and Gastroenterology. The Hospital is a 90-year-old Institution and was the pioneer in developing Cardiology and Cardiovascular Surgery facilities in South India. The Hospital is also recognized by the National Board of Examinations for conducting DNB Courses in Nine Specialties/Super Specialties. The motto of the Hospital is to provide contemporary quality health care to all beneficiaries as per evidence based medicine. The Hospital is equipped with State of Art equipment to provide the best care to patients.

As a part of quality improvement and providing optimal patient Care in-house to the patients, the Hospital invites applications from interested Specialists to impanel as “Honorary Visiting Specialists” in the following disciplines.

Terms and Conditions for empanelment as "Honorary Visiting Specialists" at Southern Railway Headquarters Hospital, Perambur, Chennai-23.

The empanelment will be purely on the limited basis for a period not exceeding one year or less. He / She will not have any claim or right for his / her continuity or automatic extension of the empanelment.

1. Qualification and Experience:

1.1 Super Specialist - Minimum qualification will be Post Doctoral qualification DM/MCH or equivalent.

1.2 Specialist - Post-Graduate Degree from a recognized University. Minimum 3 years experience in the professional work related to concerned Specialty after obtaining P.G. degree.

Where suitable candidate with PG degree are not available PG Diploma holders with 5 years experience in the professional work related to concerned specialty after obtaining P.G. Diploma will be considered.

2. Age Profile:

2.1 Upper age limit for engagement is 64 years.

3. Tenure of working:

3.1 One year from the date of Empanelment.

3.2 After expiry of one year, an extension can be given on yearly basis depending on satisfactory performance.

4. A number of visits/Number of Hours etc:

4.1 Average of 2 hours every day/6 days/week.

4.2 Average of 2 hours every day/4 days/week.

4.3 Average of 2 hours every day/2 days/week.

Depending on the workload in the required specialty

In addition, they will have to come to the hospital whenever called in for the emergency on any day, including Sunday and off day (For 4 days & 2 days /week) and at any time of the day.

5. Honorarium:

Hours of Duty Specialist: Super Specialist

2 hours a day for 6 days/week Pay: Rs.32,000/P.M. Rs.40,000/P.M.

2 hours a day for 4 days/week Pay: Rs.20,000/P.M. Rs.25,000/P.M.

2 hours a day for 2 days/week Pay: Rs.10,000/P.M. Rs.12,500/P.M.

Hours of Duty Super Specialist:

2 hours a day for 6 days/week Pay: Rs.40,000/P.M.

2 hours a day for 4 days/week Pay: Rs.25,000/P.M.

2 hours a day for 2 days/week Pay: Rs.12,500/P.M.

6. Free Railway Passes:

6.1 One set of Complimentary Railway Pass valid all over Indian Railway & Konkan Railway in AC Two tier including Rajdhani Express and in AC Chair Car of Shatabdi Express for Self, Spouse and Dependent Children (as per rules applicable to Railway employees) will be made available as per the entitlement of Selection Grade Officers in each calendar year.

6.2 The Complimentary pass can be availed only after 3 months of engagement, for the calendar year.

7. Daily Rate of deduction of remuneration:

They are allowed to have 12 days leave every year. For any absence beyond 12 days, deductions will be made at the following rates:

A number of hours/day/week Specialist:

2 hours a day for 6 days/week Pay: Rs. 1360/P.D.

2 hours a day for 4 days/week Pay: Rs. 1250/P.D.

2 hours a day for 2 days/week Pay: Rs. 1250/P.D.

A number of hours/day/week Super Specialist:

2 hours a day for 6 days/week Pay: Rs. 1700/P.D.

2 hours a day for 4 days/week Pay: Rs. 1563/P.D.

2 hours a day for 2 days/week Pay: Rs. 1563/P.D.

8. Termination of contract:

The Contract may be terminated at any time, on one month's notice on either side. The Administration reserves the right not to assign any reason for such termination.
