Gauhati University Opening New Jobs 2017 – Professor, Associate Professor, and Assistant Professor Post:

Applications are invited from the Indian citizens for teaching posts of Professor, Associate Professor, Assistant Professor and Assistant Professor (Contractual) under various departments of Gauhati University. For required essential qualification, specialization, no. of post, pay band, eligibility condition and other details are given below

A. Professor

1. Department of Statistics:

No. of Posts: 01 (One)

Specialization: Open

Minimum Essential Qualification: As per UGC Norms

2. Department of Anthropology:

No. of Posts: 01 (One)

Specialization: Social Anthropology

Minimum essential qualification: As per UGC Norms

B. Associate Professor

1. Department of Physics:

No. of Posts: 01 (One)

Specialization: Nano Physics

Minimum essential qualification: As per UGC Norms

2. Department of Geological Science:

No. of Posts: 03 (Three)

Specialization:

(I) Metamorphic petrology and/or Geochemistry

II) Exploration geophysics/Sedimentology

(III) Petroleum Geology (Preference may be given for candidates with industrial back ground)

Minimum essential qualification: As per UGC Norms

C. Assistant Professor

1. Department of Geological Science:

No. of Posts: 02 (Two)

Specialization:

(I) Hydrogeology

(II) Igneous petrology and mineralogy

Minimum essential qualification: As per UGC Norms

D. Assistant Professor (Contractual)

1. Department of Sociology:

No. of Posts: 01 (One)

Specialization: Open

Minimum essential qualification: As per UGC Norms

2. G.U.I.S.T:

No. of Posts: 03 (Three)

Specialization: Information Technology

Minimum essential qualification: (I) M. Tech. in  with minimum 1 year experience and as per UGC Norms

The Scale of Pay Band & Academic Grade Pay:

Professor: Rs. 37,400/- to 67,000/- & AGP Rs.10, 000/-

Associate Professor: Rs. 37,400/- to 67,000/- & AGP Rs.9, 000/-

Assistant Professor: Rs. 15,600/- to 39,100/- & AGP Rs.6, 000/-

Assistant Professor (Contractual) (Consolidated pay): Rs. 21,600/- per month.

Application Form: Prescribed application form may be downloaded from the G.U. website www.gauhati.ac.in.

Application Fees & Last date: Candidates will be required to pay an amount of Rs. 1000/-(in the case of SC, ST Rs. 500/-) Demand Draft in favor of Registrar, Gauhati University payable at SBI Branch, G.U. as an application fee for the post. Completed application in prescribed form along with necessary enclosures must reach “The Registrar,

Gauhati University, Guwahati-781014”, latest by 20/07/2017

1. Note:

A) Those who are willing to apply for more than one post, they must submit the separate application form with separate application fees.

B) The name of the posts & Department must be written on the envelope of the application

C) For the candidate who will be applying for the post of Professor/Associate Professor filling up to IQAC format is mandatory along with the applications failing which applications will be rejected.

D) In all cases, two copies of application form with all testimonials need to be submitted.

E) Those in employment should submit their application through proper channel up or submit the NOC from the authority concerned.

F) Mere fulfillment of qualification will not entitle an applicant for inviting to the interview.

G) Reservation policy of University will be applicable
