    ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATION:

    Engineering Departments:
    Masters Degree in Engineering with first class (60% marks or GPA of 6.5/10) at both Bachelor’s and Master’s level in appropriate branch of Engineering. First class (60% marks or GPA of 6.5/10) B.E / B. Tech. with Ph. D Thesis submitted may also apply.

    Basic Science Departments:
    Ph. D with first class (60% marks or GPA of 6.5/10) at both Bachelor’s and Master’s level with Specialization in the relevant discipline.

    Management Studies:
    Ph.D. with MBA in Finance / Marketing / HR with first class (60% marks or GPA of 6.5/10) at both Bachelor’s and Master’s level.
    OR
    Ph. D with first class (60% marks or GPA of 6.5/10) at both Bachelor’s and Master’s level with Specialization in Managerial Economics & Quantitative Techniques / Operation Research / Business Communication (English)

    Humanities and Social Sciences:
    Ph. D with first class (60% marks or GPA of 6.5/10) at both Bachelor’s and Master’s level with specialization in English

    SALARY (The Scale of Pay): INR 35,000.00 (Consolidated) per month (likely to be revised).

    GENERAL INFORMATION:
    A) The appointment will be initially for 1 (one) Semester and may be extended for one more semester subject to fulfillment of eligibility criteria. The maximum duration of appointment in the entire career for a person shall be limited to 5 (five) semesters.
    B) The number of posts depends on the requirement of the Institute. The Institute reserves the right not to fill any or all the posts advertised and to reject any or all the applications without assigning any reason.
    C) Canvassing in any manner would entail disqualification of the candidature.
    D) The decision of the Institute in all matters will be final. No correspondence /interim inquiries will be entertained from the candidates in connection with the process of selection.
    E) Candidates who will appear for the interview will have to produce original documents (along with the photocopy of each) in support of all the particulars mentioned in their application form along with 2 passport size photographs.
    F) Residential accommodation will be provided subject to availability.
    G) Candidates are advised to keep in touch with Institute website i.e. www.nits.ac.in for any information.

    About National Institute of Technology, Silchar Assam
    National Institute of Technology Silchar (NIT Silchar) is one of the 31 NITs of India and was established in 1967 as a Regional Engineering College in Assam. In 2002, it was upgraded to the status of National Institute of Technology and was declared as Institute of National Importance under the National Institutes of Technology Act, 2007. The Regional Engineering College at Silchar (Assam) was founded in 1967 as a joint venture between the Government of India and the State Government of Assam to cater to the country's need for manpower in technology. RECs were jointly operated by the central government and the Assam state government. The college was conferred with autonomy in financial and administrative matters in 2002, the institution was granted Deemed University status with the approval of the UGC/AICTE and was renamed the National Institute of Technology, Silchar. In 2007, through the NIT Bill, the Indian government declared the National Institutes of Technology as "Institutes of National Importance". Now NIT Silchar is a premier engineering institute in Assam along with IIT Guwahati.
